WHO: New Delhi-based Ribhav Kapur had a passion for eclectic yet functional things from a young age. After studying at the National Institute Of Fashion Technology, he went on to work at an international design house for over a decade, where the pressing need to manage waste materials became even more pronounced to Kapur. His interest in circular fashion led him to pursue a master’s degree in Leadership for Sustainability in Sweden. Econock manifested as his dream project. Kapur’s initial thought process was about how to engineer waste and imagine design intricacies with various materials and fabrics, instead of limiting oneself while working with the idea of ‘waste’.

WHY: Discarded leather, fabric waste, and thread waste are reconstructed into statement bags and belts with strong graphic lines and geometrical shapes. From clutches and thigh systems to wristlets and wallets, each item is meticulously designed to be both visually striking and practical. All pieces are customisable in vegan alternatives, such as cork and coconut leather.

WEAR: The Urumi Clutch is a conversation-starter that can be styled with a pantsuit in a punchy shade. Cinch the silhouette with the Sai Waist Belt and put on rimless sunglasses for a look that screams ‘I know what I’m doing’.
